PLEASE NOTE THIS PROGRAMME IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE 〰️

The #WSPA2024 conference will provide an opportunity to learn from leading schools, education partners, policymakers and researchers on school-based physical activity. The two-day programme will involve an exciting mix of keynotes, symposiums, co-design workshops, and poster presentations. We have secured keynote speakers from across the globe to share stories of their success and challenges in creating positive cultural change for physical activity within schools and the border educational system. More details of the keynote speakers can be seen on the highlighted speakers page.

As the programme has developed, we have been excited by the enthusiasm from our partners across the globe. Due to this, we can include an exciting series of presentations on Tuesday that will showcase leading international whole-school programmes, these include;

Australia

Norway

Italy

Estonia

USA

UK

Finland

While the conference is focused on schools, we felt it was important to showcase learning on how schools are part of a wider physical activity ecosystem. The JUMP whole-system physical activity team from Bradford will present the UK’s first whole-system approach to promoting physical activity for children and young people aged five-to-14. Sport England funded this pioneering programme as part of a £100 million investment across 12 initial local delivery pilots tasked with creating whole-systems change for physical activity within their locality.

On day two, you will attend two collaborative workshops to share your views and learn from others. The workshops will provide an opportunity to enhance your understanding of the role you can play in improving whole-school physical activity while also helping to shape guidance on what a true whole-school approach looks like.
